In connection with the sale of batteries or devices containing batteries, we are obliged under battery law (EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542 and the German Battery Law Implementation Act – BattDG) to inform you of the following:
Do not dispose of batteries with household waste
Waste batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. As an end user, you are legally obliged to collect and return waste batteries separately. Waste batteries may contain pollutants that can harm the environment and health if stored or disposed of improperly. They also contain valuable raw materials such as lithium, cobalt, nickel or iron, which are recycled.
Free return
You can return waste batteries to us free of charge — at our Moers warehouse (Bullermannshof 11 / Tor 20, 47441 Moers) or, after prior arrangement, by post or freight — as well as to municipal collection points or retailers. For industrial and storage batteries (e.g. home batteries) and batteries from light means of transport, please contact us before returning them; we will tell you how to return them and arrange collection if necessary.
Safety information
Lithium batteries can catch fire if damaged or short-circuited. Tape the terminals before returning them, use suitable packaging for damaged batteries and, where possible, remove batteries from devices before disposal.
Meaning of the symbols
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste. The following symbols may also appear below it: Pb – the battery contains more than 0.004 % lead by mass, Cd – more than 0.002 % cadmium, Hg – more than 0.0005 % mercury.
